Adamawa police arrest seven 'Shilla gangsters' for armed robbery
The Adamawa State Police Command has successfully arrested seven suspects involved in an armed robbery operation along Federal Housing Bajabure, in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, identified as members of a notorious criminal group known as the Shilla Boys, were reported to have attacked members of the public, dispossessing them of their valuables.
In a statement on Tuesday, the command said the suspects were armed with dangerous weapons, and caused fear among residents during their operation.
The police, led by DPO Viniklang, and his team, swiftly responded to the scene of the crime and arrested Ja’afar Umar, 16yrs; Bulama Abba, 15yrs; Dalha Mohammed, 16 years; Saidu Abba, 18yrs; Safiyanu Yunusa, 15yrs; Mohammed Abubakar, 15yrs; and Abba Ibrahim, 15yrs, all residents of Jambutu, Yola North Local Government Area.
During the arrest, the total sum of ₦12,350, one dagger, and two GSM phones were recovered from the suspects and treated as exhibits.
The command said the Commissioner of police Adamawa state Command CP Dankombo Morris, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to takeover case and ensure diligent investigation and prosecution of the suspects.
