Published 2 months ago12 minute read

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Oostende as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Oostende smashed 10th ranked Leuven Bears at home

73-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leuven Bears. 24 personal fouls committed by Leuven helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Timmy Allen (198-2000, college: Texas) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and Pierre-Antoine Gillet (201-1991) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Noah Baumann (198-1999, college: GCU) with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Leuven at the other side keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Leuven will play next round against Feyenoord trying to get back on the winning streak. Oostende will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Kortrijk on the road.
Important game to mention about took place in Mechelen. Third ranked Kangoeroes (20-7) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-best Kortrijk (22-6) 93-91 on Wednesday evening. American guard Trenton Gibson (193-2000, college: Indiana St.) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Augustas Peciukevicius supported him with 16 points. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American guard John Newman III (196-1999, college: Cincinnati) did not help to save the game for Kortrijk. Kortrijk's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mechelen maintains third position with 20-7 record having five points less than leader Oostende. Kortrijk at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Mechelen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kortrijk will play at home against the league's leader Oostende and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
One of the most interesting games of round 30 was a derby match between two teams from Holland. Seventh ranked Den Bosch outleveled visiting Groningen (7-19) 96-59. The best player for the winners was LeTre Darthard who scored 32 points and 5 steals (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Filip Brankovic who recorded 18 points. Groningen lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth place with 19 games lost. Den Bosch will meet at home Aalst (#11) in the next round. Groningen will play against Antwerp (#6) and hope to secure a win.
