Eastern Illinois men’s basketball head coach Marty Simmons has announced the addition of Henoc Bienne as an assistant coach with the Panthers staff for the 2025-26 season.

 Bienne comes to EIU after spending last season on the staff at Western Kentucky where the Hilltoppers posted a winning record before being eliminated in the Conference USA Tournament.

 Prior to that Bienne was on the staff at Iowa State for two seasons (2022-23 & 2023-24) with the Cyclones advancing to the NCAA Tournament in both seasons.  His second season on staff the team reached the Sweet 16 winning 29 games.

 A native of Queens, NY, Bienne played two seasons at Paris Junior College in Texas before finishing his career at NCAA Division II Mercy College.  He went on to play professionally in Argentina before beginning his coaching career.

 His first stop in coaching came as a graduate assistant at UIC in 2019-20 followed by two seasons as an assistant coach at Indian Hills Junior College where the team reached the NJCAA National Tournament his second season.
