Yakuza: Like a Dragon was a major departure from the real-time combat that the series was known for. It helps that Ichiban Kasuga is a great protagonist who keeps the group together as he tries to uncover the reason why the person he looked up to the most betrayed him.

The turn-based combat could have been a disaster, but Like a Dragon manages to keep things fresh and engaging courtesy of an excellent job system. Essence moves take a lot of MP, but are well worth using. Not to mention, some of the jobs are hilarious and add to the gameplay's novelty.
