FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Governor Andy Beshear requested President Donald Trump make an emergency disaster declaration.

Beshear made the announcement on Facebook just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

The declaration would open up federal funding to be used for state cleanup efforts.

Beshear also says he has been in contact with FEMA and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
