Berekuso Chief Praises Rotary Club for Healthcare Transformation

Nana Oteng Kuranchie II, Chief of Berekuso and Twafohene of the Akuapem Traditional Area, has praised the Rotary Club of Accra-Ring Road Central for constructing a new community clinic in Berekuso. He noted that the initiative has significantly eased the burden on residents who previously had difficulty accessing healthcare services, often needing to travel to nearby towns or Accra for medical care. The chief expressed gratitude for the new facility and pledged to ensure its proper upkeep.

The Rotary Club of Accra-Ring Road Central officially commissioned and handed over the fully furnished clinic to the people of Berekuso on May 10, 2025. Albert Bahun Wilson, President of the Rotary Club, emphasized the club’s dedication to impactful service, describing the clinic as a symbol of compassion and hope aimed at ensuring quality healthcare access in remote areas.

Rotary International President-Elect Mario César Martins de Camargo lauded the project’s alignment with Rotary’s global vision. Emilia Amponsah, the Municipal Director of the Ghana Health Service, highlighted the poor condition of the previous facility and praised the Rotary Club for its commitment to improving healthcare in Berekuso and surrounding areas.

The new clinic is equipped with essential medical facilities and will provide crucial maternal, child, and primary healthcare services to the community. It stands as a testament to the achievements possible through purposeful partnerships and Rotary’s enduring spirit.
