The Committee is to consider the letter from the President by vetting them and report to the House.

President John Dramani Mahama in April nominated Seven Justices of the Court of Appeal for consideration and appointment to the Supreme Court. The nominations were made in accordance with Article 144 (2) of the 1992 Constitution, and subject to approval by Parliament.

The justices are; Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei, Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo and Justice Philip Bright Mensah, Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo and Justice Hafisata Amaleboba.

In another development, the Minority caucus in Parliament has called on the Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor to appear before the House to explain how the missing containers were retrieved.

At a media briefing on May 27, Deputy Ranking Member on the Energy Committee, Collins Adomako Mensah says the containers were not missing as indicated by the Minister.

“The Minister should come clean with the facts concerning the missing containers,” he said.

According to the group, proper auditing was not done. The caucus said the containers found are even more than the 1,130 that were first reported to have gone missing and finds it strange.
