The event brought together key players from the aviation and corporate sectors in a unified show of support for the well-being and dignity of Kenya’s senior citizens.
Among those present were Jambojet, Safarilink, Centum Re, Amref, Bluebird Aviation, Dragonfly, Jubilee Insurance, Kasas Air, Hawk Aviation, Renegade Air, Futuresoft, Safezone Auto Parts, and 748 Air Services.
Speaking during the event, MIC director Amina Mohamed extended her gratitude to the sponsors and emphasized the organization’s vision to ensure seniors age with health, dignity, and respect.
“Your presence today reflects a collective spirit of compassion and responsibility for those who once nurtured us,” she said.
MIC president Ahmed Jibril echoed these sentiments, stating that the mock event was more than a practice run—it was a vital awareness drive.
“We are here to remind the public that seniors still matter. They deserve our attention, our care, and our action. We are here to remind the public that seniors still matter. They deserve our attention, our care, and our action," said Jibril.

748 Air Services managing director, Moses Mwangi, called upon all partners and stakeholders to take the next step by registering for the main run.
“Let us not stop here. Let’s ensure our colleagues sign up at www.mamaibado.org. This is for our seniors—our responsibility and our legacy,” he urged.
The aviators who were in high spirits expressed the need for the society and the government at large to harness energies in such events, efforts they say will help cover more ground.
"Jambojet is proud to support a cause that uplifts the generation that came before us. Our seniors deserve to age with dignity, and we’re here to champion that,” said Renee Wachuka, its brand Executive - Loyalty & Sustainability.
The official Run for Seniors event will take place on July 11 at Karura Forest.
Proceeds from the event will support MIC’s flagship programs that provide monthly food baskets and medical care to over 1,000 elderly beneficiaries across Isiolo and Kakamega Counties.
Over the past 13 years, this program has been a beacon of hope for many seniors, providing essential food rations, healthcare support, and improving living standards for needy seniors aged 60 years and above.
Years ago, Mama Ibado Charity built 87 homes for the elderly in support of various donors where the charity organisation went to the communities where these seniors live and committed where they stay, negotiated with the community, and were given the space to build the homes.
