The Atlanta Dream is currently going against the Chicago Sky at the Gateway Center in College Park, Georgia. In a very tight game, the Sky was one point ahead of the Dream with a score of 39-38 during halftime. But by the end of the third quarter, the Dream was ahead with a score of 58-54.

Sky's star player Angel Reese scored eight points and six rebounds, while Atlanta’s Rhyne Howard also scored eight points and five rebounds for the Dream.

Early in the game, the Dream's official PR X account announced that Howard moved into fourth place on the Dream’s all-time assists list, surpassing former WNBA player Layshia Clarendon, when she recorded her third assist of the game.

The milestone is just the latest in Howard’s growing legacy with Atlanta, where she continues to lead both offensively and defensively. The Kentucky alum was the No. 1 pick during the 2022 WNBA draft. She earned Rookie of the Year, two All‑Star nods and averaged around 17 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game across her first three seasons.

According to Basketball Reference, the top three Dream players with the most assists include Angel McCoughtry, Tiffany Hayes and Sancho Lyttle.

McCouhtry played for the Dream from 2009 to 2018, where she was selected first overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2009 WNBA draft and was considered its franchise player during her tenure with the team. The last time she played in the WNBA was with the Minnesota Lynx in 2022.

Hayes is currently a guard for the Golden State Valkyries, but played for the Dream from 2012 to 2019, then opted not to play during the 2020 season, then came back for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Lastly, Lyttle played with the Dream from 2010 to 2017, then played for the Phoenix Mercury for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. She announced her retirement in September 2019 after playing in the WNBA for 15 seasons.

All eyes are on Howard during the last quarter of the Dream-Sky game, especially after this accomplishment.
