The Albert Lea Art Center, as part of the Dorothy Godtland Lecture Series, will host a lecture titled “Singing Bowls” from 7 to 8 p.m. April 24 at the Art Center. The presentation will be given by Albert Lea area native, Kim Herfindahl.

Herfindahl’s interest with singing bowls and sound therapy came from experiencing the healing effects of them along her own journey of mental wellness and self care, according to a press release.

Education and experience as a massage therapist, she said, has taught her that wounds are at times deeper than people realize. The saying “our issues are in our tissues” is very true.

According to the press release, people can benefit greatly from alternative and holistic forms of treatments to release old energies, open their minds and bring some peace and clarity to their lives.

At the lecture, Herfindahl will explain the benefits of singing bowls and also give a demonstration.
