Arby's puts Potato Cakes on the permanent menu
The crispy, golden, triangle-shaped Potato Cakes were taken off the permanent menu four years ago. They briefly returned for a limited-time run last July in celebration of Arby’s 60th birthday, with actor Kyle MacLachlan welcoming fans to a group called The Order of Potato Cakes complete with branded merch. Consumers could purchase a Potato Cake amber necklace, candle, enamel pin, t-shirt or hoodie at ArbysShop.com
But customers have been loudly demanding a permanent comeback for some time, with social media mentions for the Potato Cakes’ return topping 10,000, according to Arby’s.
Since Arby’s isn’t planning to ever discontinue Potato Cakes again, those who sign up to be part of the pre-class action lawsuit can also redeem a DoorDash code to receive free delivery and a two-piece Potato Cakes between Feb. 27 and March 5, 2025.
Potato lovers have long been able to order Crinkle Fries and Curly Fries from Arby’s menu, but Potato Cakes have a particularly passionate and vocal following. In addition to the thousands of social media mentions, fans have signed online petitions and the The Order of Potato Cakes is now a very active Facebook group.
