Wrexham, under the leadership of co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have achieved an impressive third consecutive promotion . The Welsh team confirmed their rise from League One (third tier) to the Championship (second tier) over the weekend after a decisive 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at Racecourse Ground.

The Hollywood pair were present for the celebration, cheering enthusiastically as goals from Sam Smith and Ollie Rathbone secured the win for their team. Blake Lively , Reynolds' wife, was also in attendance , watching from the owners' private box, adding to the star power that has become synonymous with the Red Dragons' season.

A-listers such as Eva Longoria , Channing Tatum , Brendan Sklenar, and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong have been spotted among the spectators at Wrexham games this season. Interestingly, it has now come to light that a well-known Arsenal fan has also played a surprising part in the club's success.

Danny DeVito , a fervent Gunners supporter and co-star with McElhenney on the sitcom 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia,' reportedly served as an unexpected advisor when McElhenney first considered purchasing a football club during the Covid lockdown in 2020. As per The Athletic , the 80-year-old actor's support has continued since then, even attending a viewing party for Wrexham's match against Barnsley in Los Angeles last December.

DeVito, reported to be worth $80 million, was seen high-fiving fans at the Cosm immersive reality venue after a last-minute goal from midfielder Rathbone clinched all three points for Phil Parkinson's squad. A video of his reaction to the last-minute victory quickly became a sensation among fans who enjoyed the extraordinary scenes.

Unlike his Always Sunny co-stars Kaitlin Olson, Charlie Day, and Glenn Howerton, DeVito has yet to make a personal appearance in Wrexham. This is despite a supposed sighting of him in the city in 2021, which was later revealed to be a doppelgänger shooting a trailer for the Welcome to Wrexham documentary.

Nonetheless, DeVito has been a valuable source of guidance for McElhenney, who has openly expressed his gratitude for the wisdom of the New Jersey-born star. In November, on DeVito's 80th birthday, McElhenney shared a heartfelt message.

Posting on X, he said the octogenarian 'always made him feel loved'. In his birthday wishes to DeVito, he wrote: "This man was born 80 years ago today. He could still drink you under the table. He could still make you laugh harder than anyone you've ever met.

"He could still make you feel like you're the only person in the room. He could still give you the best advice you've ever gotten and make you feel loved no matter what. He's an American treasure. There is only one @DannyDeVito".

During the 2019 National Television Awards, DeVito confessed his love for Arsenal. He was there to present the Best Drama Performance award to Richard Madden for his role in Bodyguard, but also professed his affection for the north London team while on stage.

DeVito expressed his excitement about attending an Arsenal match, stating: "This is a big week for me this week. It's really nice for me to be here, I've got an Arsenal game on Friday night."

The actor also humorously hinted at a new career path after Petr Cech's retirement, saying, "I've got try-outs," and "I'm going to get Petr Cech's job - he's a goalie. Go Arsenal."

However, not everyone was amused by DeVito's remarks as some audience members expressed their disapproval with boos, prompting DeVito to retort, "You're mean". In contrast, Wrexham manager Parkinson has nothing but praise for the club's celebrity owners, Reynolds and McElhenney.

In a conversation with Sky Sports, Parkinson highlighted their respectful approach, saying: "They bought the club because of the passion for the club in the area. This will mean so much to those two and they deserve it because they've let us manage. They've been brilliant."

"It doesn't happen often in football. They've let the manager pick the team, sign the players and have sat back and let us do our job, but still been involved. They've been outstanding for us and great to work for."
