Andrew Ginn takes the helm at JCA | London Fashion Academy - FashionNetwork United Kingdom

The fast-expanding JCA | London Fashion Academy has named Andrew Ginn as its new CEO and principal. 

He’s said to be “a seasoned leader in creative education and institutional transformation” and JCA said he’s been promoted to CEO having recently served as its principal “at a pivotal time in its evolution as a world-class fashion academy”.

Before joining JCA he was associate pro vice-chancellor at Coventry University, where he launched and expanded CU London. Under his leadership, the institution grew to over 2,500 students, “achieved sector-leading NSS outcomes, shared TEF Gold status, and led the formation of an Institute of Technology".

He began his career as a fine art photographer before moving into teaching and managing programmes across art, fashion, and design. He’s held “senior roles across the UK, including leading curriculum and quality initiatives, launching business incubation hubs, and developing award-winning partnerships with universities, accrediting bodies, and industry leaders such as Adobe, Apple, and Creative and Cultural Skills.

JCA is an unusual higher education institution with its original campus in the heart of London’s Mayfair. It also has a second campus at Boston Manor House and its new JCA Retail Gallery, an e-commerce and retail platform for students and alumni.

Founder by Professor Jimmy Choo in 2021, its focus on “nurturing the next generation of designer-entrepreneurs”.

Ginn’s job is now to “lead a growing institution that blends fashion design with entrepreneurship across a range of programmes — from the Foundation Diploma and BA (Hons) degrees, to the MA in Fashion Entrepreneurship in Design & Brand Innovation”.
