Pixar has been entertaining kids for generations: Millennials will remember A Bug’s Life and Monster’s Inc, while Gen Z has Cars and Ratatouille. The studio's streak of iconic and groundbreaking films that both kids and their parents have fallen in love with has been hard to break, with beautifully animated and moving storylines as hits like Luca, Coco, and The Incredibles continue to arrive on our screens.

Pixar recently gave the press a preview of its upcoming slate of films, and families can expect more animal-centric films, sequels to fan-favorite movies, and new additions to the Pixar universe.

The studio plans to release new titles at a cadence of three films every two years. The first movie, called Elio, you probably all know about: It centers on a young boy named Elio who longs to be abducted by aliens and ends up embarking on his own adventure in space. It will be released in theaters on June 20.

Here's what else the studio has in the works.

Next up, Pixar will release a film called Hoppers in 2026. It’s about an animal-loving college student named Mable who wants to protect the peaceful glade that is home to wildlife—including the beaver whose brain Mable ends up occupying in an effort to encourage the animals to fight back against a planned highway that would destroy their home (the movie’s title refers to the fact that humans have figured out a way to “hop” into the brains of animals).

This next one is for the millennials who grew up with Toy Story. Now, a new generation of kids will be able to experience the magic of the friendship between Buzz and Woody. Currently Pixar is working on Toy Story 5, and while there are few details about the plot yet, what we do know is that the movie will focus on the intersection of toys and tech.

The movie again centers on Bonnie, the current owner of Andy’s toys, who made her first appearance in Toy Story 3. In this movie, she’s given a “Lillypad”—the Pixar equivalent of an iPad—and the toys must now compete for her attention. Pixar plans to release this latest installment of Toy Story in summer of 2026.

Moving even farther into the future, the directors of Luca are working on a new movie called Gatto. In this movie, we return once again to Italy, this time Venice, where we are introduced to a straggly black cat who can’t swim. He’s found by a street musician and must adjust to life as a house cat—and that’s all we know so far.

And there’s even more to come from Pixar that both big and little kids will be lining up at the theaters for: Both Coco 2 and The Incredibles 3 are already in the works, but the studio is staying tight-lipped about the release date and plot for both.

If you grew up watching Pixar films, the next few years will be an emotional journey to the movie theater when you take your kids to see their first Pixar movies.
