All the Characters on 'Spidey and His Amazing Friends'

Published 1 day ago6 minute read

It’s Spidey time! Recently renewed for its fourth season, this Disney Jr. show is the number two most streamed kids’ show for the 2 to 5 age range for a reason. Following the child versions of Peter Parker (Spidey), Miles Morales (Spin), and Gwen Stacy (Ghost-Spider), this show is the first Marvel animated series specifically created for kids this age. 'Spidey and His Amazing Friends' first premiered back in 2021, and Spidey and crew have been going on adventures ever since.

Whether your child is a long-time fan or recently started watching the show, your kid probably wants to gush and rave all about their favorite characters, and there are a ton to know if you want to keep up with your kid. There’s Spidey, of course, but who in the world are his amazing friends and the villains they’re facing off against? Below, we put together a cheat sheet of who’s who, so you’ll never get Spidey, Spin, and Ghost-Spider mixed up ever again.

When he’s not dressed as your friendly neighborhood Spidey, the kid version of Peter Parker is rocking a blue and green hoodie with black pants, a red t-shirt and some purple kicks. He lives with his Aunt May and is responsible for their pet cat, Bootsie, and helps his aunt tend to her beloved garden. His backstory deviates from traditional Spiderman lore: The show speculates that Spidey gets his powers from a magical spider-themed playground where the characters are playing pretend together.

A fun-loving kid who enjoys everything from painting to going to museums, Miles Morales has a  secret identity as the superhero Spin, who dons a stylish black and red spider suit. While he sometimes has a tendency to rush into things, he ultimately learns from his mistakes and prioritizes his friendships above all else.

In non-superhero form, Gwen Stacy is a young girl with blonde hair with bright pink highlights. She often wears a headband and a purple jacket with blue pants and pink shoes. Her superhero alias is Ghost-Spider, who wears a purple suit with a white hood and blue and hot pink detailing. She’s an animal-lover who also enjoys drumming and playing video games.

One of the many supporting heroes in the show, Black Panther (real name: T’Challa) is the young king of Wakanda. Despite being extremely busy running this country, which is known for running on high-tech inventions, he makes sure to find time for his friends. He has been known to lend Spidey and the rest of the group Vibranium to help power their epic new gadgets.

With the ability to make her arms and legs longer and her hands and feet bigger, Ms. Marvel is always around to help Spidey and his friends on their crime-fighting adventures. Her costume is a blue mask with a blue and red super suit with gold lightning bolt detailing. She’s often accompanied by Lockjaw, a giant dog with the ability to teleport himself and others.

Though he’s known for quick temper, this gentle green giant, clad in bright purple pants, has dedicated to using his super strength to help Spidey and his friends as a friend, not a foe. He’s often found smashing things in the name of justice but can still be angered easily if things don’t go his way. He also has a soft spot for adorable creatures like teddy bears and his pet bunny, Bun-Buns.

Much like in traditional Marvel lore, Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man) is a wealthy inventor who has an arc reactor in his chest and is known as the creator of the Iron Man suits. He’s featured in several episodes helping Spidey and the rest of the crew save the world.

Joining in the second season of the show, Ant-Man is a supporting hero who's often seen alongside his partner, Wasp. The partners, who both have shrinking superpowers, use their ultra high-tech to help Spidey and his friends with all sorts of problems—at one point even shrinking down so they are small enough to enter a drain pipe to retrieve a lost toy. And although Ant-Man is friendly with ants, he once admitted he’s afraid of (actual) spiders.

White Tiger is a superhero who has a long braid and wears a white tiger costume. She also wears an amulet that allows her to communicate with animals, making her a special friend to all wildlife.

One of the main villains in the show, Rhino is known for his immense strength and desire to wreak havoc all around him—he breaks things and steals from opponents. His main rival is Hulk, who is as strong as him, and he is usually seen wearing a dark grey helmet with a horn, much like a real rhino.

Also known as Doctor Octopus, Doc Ock in Spidey and His Amazing Friends is a female scientist and inventor. Her goals are to either steal jewels or one day take over the city. She’s often seen wearing a green and yellow suit with four metal claws attached to it. Her sidekicks are the Octobots, and her favorite of which is named CAL.

Pumpkin pranks are this mischievous supervillain’s signature move. He usually flies around the city on his hovercraft trying to make those around him miserable. He sometimes also deploys Giggle Gas, which makes its victims laugh uncontrollably. Like the Green Goblin you know and love from other Spiderman movies, this villain has green skin, pointy ears, and wears a purple helmet.

Electro is a power-hungry supervillain who steals the city’s electricity to use for herself. With the power grid on her side, she’s known to cause massive blackouts and super-charge herself to become ultra powerful. She is often seen wearing her green hair in a ponytail, a yellow and green suit, and a mask cut in the shape of a massive spark.

Joining the cast in season 2 is Black Cat, a jewelry thief who loves anything shiny. Unlike other supervillains, she does show a bit of empathy towards others, but can often put her desire for sparkly things in front of doing what’s right. You can easily recognize her by her white hair, black mask, and black jumpsuit with cat ears on the hood.

With the power to control and transform into sand, Sandman (his real name is Flint Marko) is a tough opponent for Spidey and his friends. He’s known to be a bully—in one episode, he knocked over other kids’ sandcastles—and arrogant. Unlike other supervillains, his suit is muted, opting for a green shirt and brown pants instead of a flashy get-up.

Joining the show in season 3, Lizard is an anthropomorphic lizard who is the same size as an adult. A genius scientist, he steals money to help pay for his various experiments—including the creation of potions with otherworldly effects.
