Ali Fazal's Kleptomaniac Role in 'Thug Life'

Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's Thug Life is scheduled for a global release on June 5, 2025, marking the reunion of the iconic duo after nearly two decades. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Trisha and STR, enhancing the anticipation for this ambitious project. The audio launch event, which took place recently, combined both physical and digital participation.
During the audio launch, Trisha provided insights into her character, hinting that every role in Thug Life has morally ambiguous aspects. She revealed that her character is a singer who plays a significant role in the narrative. Audiences will gain a deeper understanding of her role and its importance upon the film's theatrical release. The film also features Nassar, Joju George, Ashok Selvan, and other notable actors from Indian cinema. Thug Life is a joint production by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, with A. R. Rahman composing the soundtrack, raising expectations for both the story and the music.
Ali Fazal, known for his roles in 'Fukrey' and 'Mirzapur,' is set to portray a kleptomaniac in his next film. He announced the project on Instagram, mentioning he has six months to prepare before filming commences at the end of the year. In addition to this new role, Ali Fazal is also preparing for the release of ‘Metro… In Dino’, an anthology film directed by Anurag Basu, scheduled to hit theaters on July 4. The film features an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta. The team recently released the teaser for its first single, Zamaana Lage, described as a “modern ghazal for today’s soul,” which Ali shared with his fans, building excitement for the film's music and release.
The original film, 'Life in a… Metro' (2007), is an anthology of interconnected love stories set in Mumbai, portraying the complexities of urban relationships through characters navigating infidelity, societal pressures, and personal aspirations. The original movie received critical acclaim for its portrayal of modern love and relationship dynamics.
