Alex Caruso talks creating GOAT and Mt. Rushmore championship shirts, celebrating title at Raising Cane's

Published 4 days ago3 minute read

Alex Caruso is now a two-time NBA champion and has created Mt. Rushmore and GOAT shirts to celebrate the achievement. On3 attended an Oklahoma City Thunder championship rally at Raising Cane’s in Oklahoma City that featured Caruso. At the event, On3 asked Caruso about the feedback he had received from the shirts.

“I think the reaction to the shirts was really positive,” Caruso told On3 and a group of reporters. “Those are always fun to do. Anytime you have something where you can throw some of your creativity and your personality out there, it’s a lot of fun. And hopefully, I threw a couple out in the parade, and I think a couple more people at least tweeted at me that they got some online.”

Alex Caruso wore the Mt. Rushmore shirt at the championship parade, and fans can purchase both shorts by going to his website, AlexCarusoShow.com. The Mt. Rushmore shirt is a version of the sculpture, which features four heads of the former Texas A&M star. The GOAT shirt is a picture of a goat wearing Caruso’s Thunder uniform while holding the NBA championship trophy.

Alex Caruso joined the Thunder last summer after spending the last three seasons with the Chicago Bulls. Known for his defensive play, Caruso recorded 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks to help the Thunder beat the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

With the Thunder winning their first title since moving to Oklahoma City in 2008, hundreds of fans showed up at Raising Cane’s to show support for Caruso. Along with celebrating the title win, Caruso worked a “shift” at the restaurant known for its chicken fingers.

“This team was made up of second-round Draft picks and free agents at the start of their careers and was pieced together meticulously. This has been a full circle moment for me and it will take some time for it all to sink in, but it’s been so cool,” Caruso said. “The fans have always supported us no matter how good the team was. They chant, they sell out arenas, and it’s such a tangible feeling that’s so special. Even today we still have hundreds of fans here at Cane’s. It doesn’t go unnoticed.”
