During the mass, Eucabeth, the mother of the blogger, broke down eulogising her son.
Ojwang, an only child, was brutally murdered at Central Police Station in Nairobi, and an autopsy confirmed that he died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head and multiple injuries sustained from an assault.
The grieving mum emotionally mourned her son, describing him as a loving, caring, humble and jovial child. She noted that Ojwang never fought anyone.
"Albert, my son, cared about us a lot. He would call me anytime, even in the middle of the night, to ask if we had eaten. He would then send me cash to buy more food," she said.
The heartbroken mum recalled how Ojwang was arrested at their Homa Bay home just when he was about to have lunch, the ugali she had served him.
"Albert alianza kutetemeka (he was trembling) when the police arrived. I asked him what he had done, and he said nothing. I wish the police had asked me how many children I had. Sahii nabeba mwili wa mtoto wangu kurudi nao nyumbani sijui nitafanya nini Sijui nitaanzia wapi (Now I'm carrying my son's body back home. What will I do? Where do I start from)? It's sad. He was a very polite and humble child."
Eucabeth released her son, urging him to haunt his killers.
"I have released you to go in peace. Usilale (don't sleep) Albert," she said.
