Videos of the single-story house the politician built for the family have surfaced on social media.

The family opted for maroon or burgundy iron sheets, matching the walls of the house.

The walls were painted a light orange colour with trims around the pillars and windows.

The house boasted of large windows that were fitted with metallic grills for security purposes and ventilation.

There was a small open veranda which led to the main entrance and was supported by columns.

The family is yet to do some landscaping on their compound. It appeared unfinished with bare soil.

Kenyans also got a glimpse inside the house. In the living room, the family’s cosy couches were already moved.

Wanga had previously disclosed that she was building the house for the family as a form of support.

She noted that if Albert were alive, she knew he would build the house for his family.

One of Albert’s dreams was to build a house for his family.

Wanga handed over the house to the family. She wrote:

"Today, as we receive Albert’s body home, his dream to build his parents a new house is fulfilled, albeit in his absence. May justice prevail."

A YouTuber, Shims, gave Kenyans a broader look inside the compound, which had tents ready for the burial ceremony.

A police car and several police officers were also seen at the compound.

Homa Bay's County Commissioner also gave a speech at Ojwang’s home and urged mourners to maintain peace while mourning the slain blogger.

Here is what they had to say:

@ruthee1895:

"It is jst a normal house but better than what they had..God bless you honorable Gladys wanga for putting a smile on this family's face."

Ema:

Sioni maana ya hii nyumba....coz wataishi kufikilia mtoto wao...na maybe kuona nkama it was unfair."

Enhockyze Duis:

"The emptiness he will feel afterwards is imaginable."

dimplesgir:

"Hii nyumba si imeisha haraka sana, aki pesa wewe..yangu tangu 2017 haijawahi isha mniombe."

IJ:

"The blessings of the Lord enriches, and He adds no sorrow to it."

What did Ojwang's lawyer clarify?

In other news, the family lawyer clarified the amount they had received.

Julius Juma, the lawyer, trashed claims that Kenyans had contributed KSh 10 million.

He also recalled the call he received from Mzee Meshack Opiyo, Ojwang's dad, 30 minutes after he was arrested.
