Africa STEM Summit 2025 Set to Spotlight Women and Borderless Innovation in Nairobi.
Nairobi is set to host a groundbreaking technology gathering as the Africa STEM Summit 2025 rolls out from July 8 to 10 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The summit, organized by Women in Technology and Innovation Africa (WITIA), will bring together over 500 delegates from across the continent and beyond. It will run alongside the Africa Technology Show and China Trade Week Kenya, marking a powerful collaboration of innovation and trade.
According to Joyce Muchiri, Co-founder and CEO of WITIA, the summit is a bold step toward uniting minds across borders. “We believe that innovation knows no borders,” she said. “Whether in health tech, agri-tech, climate solutions, or education, the challenges we face require both local insight and global collaboration.”
With the theme “Borderless Innovation: Pioneering Global Technology Solutions for Africa’s Challenges,” the summit aims to promote partnerships between African and international innovators, elevate African-led solutions, and empower more young people—especially women—to lead in STEM.
The program features keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on digital transformation, AI for development, green innovation, fintech inclusion, and STEM education. A special roundtable on gender equity in STEM is also scheduled.
“This summit is not just a conference,” said Dr. Bella Namango, WITIA Board Member. “It’s a platform to empower, champion, and connect African women in STEM while dismantling barriers to their full participation.”
Notably, over 30 speakers from the fields of technology, policy, and academia will take the stage. These include Radhika Bhachu of Ndovu, Grace Murugi, an AI and digital strategist, Dr. Bright Gameli, ICT advisor at USIU, and Ruby Alcantara, an expert in green engineering.
“Our focus is on empowerment, innovation, advocacy, networking, and visibility,” added Dr. Namango. “We want to showcase the critical contributions of African women to science, technology, and innovation across the globe.”
Expected outcomes of the summit include increased participation of women and girls in STEM careers, new investment opportunities, strong policy recommendations, and global visibility for African innovators.
WITIA is calling on all stakeholders to register, partner, and support the event. The organization is especially keen on sponsorships that will enable youth participation and showcase women-led tech in the summit.
