Adamawa Armed Robber Arrested, Police Recover Weapons

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old suspected armed robber, Zephaniah Alfred, who had been on the command’s wanted list for violent crimes around the Numan–Gombe Road axis of the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, said the arrest followed a complaint by one Ibrahim Maikano, who reported to the police that the suspect had threatened to kill him.

“On the strength of that, operatives of the Command attached to Numan Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), apprehended the suspect, Zephaniah Alfred, 29 years old,” the statement partly read.

Nguroje disclosed that the suspect had long been wanted by the command for his involvement in armed robbery activities that had terrorised Numan, Gombe Road, and surrounding areas.

Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence, leading to the recovery of several incriminating items.

He said,” A search warrant was executed at the residence and premises of the suspect, resulting to the recovery of the following items:

“One (1) locally made pistol, Two (2) live AK-47 ammunitions, One (1) live pistol ammunition, One (1) live cartridge, One (1) pair of military camouflage uniform, Four (4) military camouflage caps, Two (2) military camouflage T-shirts, One (1) black torchlight. “

The spokesman also confirmed that the recovered items are now being treated as exhibits, and the suspect is currently in custody and aiding investigation.
