Adam Wilson and The New Saints celebrated their record-extending 17th title on Sunday, April 13. They finished with 75 points in phase two of the league, 11 ahead of Penybont.

They sealed the title in March after their closest challengers, Penybont, failed to win. It was their fourth straight league title.

It was a great season for Wilson and The Saints, who reached the league phase of the Conference League but finished 32nd. Their exit saw them shift their full focus to securing another league title.

They also won the Nathaniel MG Cup in February after defeating Aberystwyth Town.

Wilson came through the ranks at Newcastle United but failed to make the first team. He moved to The New Saints as a result.

The 25-year-old moved to Bradford in 2023 on a permanent deal but returned to the club on loan in 2024.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at TNS a couple of seasons ago, so it’s great to be rejoining the club on loan again. The boys are on the brink of making history, so it’s an exciting time to be involved and I hope I can make the difference in the upcoming matches," he said after rejoining TNSFC.

This season he has registered 12 goals and seven assists in 39 appearances.

He was called up to the national team by former Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat in October 2024 but did not play.

“I’ve been called up to Kenya’s international team and it’s honestly an honour," he said after his call-up via Tnsfc.co.uk. "Hopefully, I can take part in the next few games and help the team towards AFCON qualification! I’m excited for this opportunity.”

The winger, who has English and Kenyan roots, missed out on Benni McCarthy's first matches as Harambee Stars coach in March against the Gambia and Gabon. He received his first call-up in May 2024.

It is not clear if he will stay at the club permanently or return to Bradford.

He is one of a few Kenyan stars who play in the United Kingdom. Zech Obiero and Zak Vyner Onyego also ply their trade in the country.

In a related story, over the weekend of April 12 and 13, other Kenyans were in action in several leagues across the world.

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama briefly played for Dunfermline in the Scottish Championship following his red card.

Jonah Ayunga scored and assisted as St Mirren took down Ross County at the SMISA Stadium on Saturday.
