The Deputy Provost, College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Gregory University, Uturu (GUU) Abia State, Prof. Ijeoma Nduka, has beckoned on medical graduands seeking a facility for their mandatory house officership training to join the Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH).

Her call follows the approval of an upgrade to 60 house officers for the university by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). She attributed the feat to Governor Alex Otti’s commitment to repositioning the Abia State’s health sector.

Nduka, who is the Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital gave this insight after the MDCN performed the induction of 83 GUU third batch of trained medical graduates.

She called on the medical graduates to take advantage of Governor Otti’s unflinching support and widely acknowledged interest in changing the narrative of Abia State’s health ecosystem.

She applauded Otti for playing a critical role in strengthening the foundation of Abia State’s health ecosystem through targeted, sustainable interventions, and ongoing reforms.
