The Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) has paid a heartfelt tribute to its former Executive Director, Francis Dadzie, celebrating his remarkable contributions to the growth and evolution of Ghana’s advertising and communications sector.

The recognition took place during the 2025 edition of the Gong Gong Festival of Creativity & Awards, held in Accra on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Francis Dadzie, who dedicated over 25 years of service to the association before retiring in December 2023, was presented with a citation highlighting his visionary leadership, exceptional service, and commitment to the advancement of the industry.

Described as a custodian of institutional memory and a tireless champion of excellence, the AAG praised his instrumental role in steering the industry through significant shifts in media, marketing practices, professional development, and consumer engagement.

Accompanied by his wife and AAG executives, Dadzie expressed fulfillment at the industry’s progress since he joined the AAG on September 1, 1999.

“We did it not for reward, but to serve God and country,” he said.

Reflecting on his journey, he shared that he left GBC for the AAG on the same salary, not for financial gain, but to make a meaningful difference.

“I believed my leadership could help shape and grow the industry,” he noted.

Though officially retired from the AAG, Dadzie revealed that he remains engaged behind the scenes and is currently working on a book tracing the journey of Ghana’s advertising industry, its past, present, and future direction.

He also expressed concern over the lack of a legal framework empowering the AAG to enforce industry standards, especially in out-of-home advertising, noting that the situation has worsened since his departure.
