“A Capitol Fourth” airs live on PBS and streams on YouTube Friday, July 4, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Rousing patriotic favorites performed by The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” and the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets will cap off the musical finale and the dazzling fireworks show over our nation’s capital.

Beloved actor and television host Alfonso Ribeiro leads the 45th anniversary edition of America’s favorite Independence Day tradition on PBS.

The cast of “A Capitol Fourth” includes an all-star cast from pop, country, R&B, classical and gospel with the National Symphony Orchestra.

“A Capitol Fourth” welcomes Alfonso Ribeiro as host of the 45th anniversary edition of America’s National Independence Day celebration - honoring our freedoms and independence, and those who defend them.

The all-star event features patriotic and musical performances capped off by a stunning fireworks display over the iconic Washington, D.C. skyline for America’s biggest birthday party.

A CAPITOL FOURTH airs live Friday, July 4, 2025 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. E.T. on PBS, as well as to our troops serving around the world on American Forces Network. The program will also be streaming on YouTube and www.pbs.org/a-capitol-fourth and available as Video on Demand for a limited time only, July 4 to July 18, 2025.

Also participating in the event will be Members of the Armed Forces carrying the State and Territorial Flags, the Armed Forces Color Guard and Service Color Teams provided by the Military District of Washington, D.C., the Choral Arts Society of Washington and Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music.
