6 Scrumtrulescent Games for PlayStation 5 · Good times and chill vibes
Shooting robots as a stylish anime character sounds like a wonderful time so let's see how holds up as an action game.

has you play as Willow Martin who's a sort of android soldier and has amnesia. However, an AI helps guide you as you forge ahead blasting various firearms at robotic enemies room after room. It's a very simple game for sure and the structure is that of a roguelike because whenever you bite the dust, you'll reawaken and uncover more and more about the story as you do so. Now, the worst part of is that its basic third-person shooting gameplay is essentially all it has going for it so it's quite repetitive. On the plus side, there's a decent variety of weapons and upgrades to discover and the gameplay is genuinely gratifying despite its simplicity. Because of this, it makes for a great game to mindlessly play whenever you want to get your mind off something while having a little fun, too. 🤖
Its repetitive nature holds back from being good but it's still enjoyable enough to play whenever you want to wind down.
Scar-Lead Salvation gameplay video →If you're in the mood for a throwback to the PS3 era and enjoy pirates then is a game that you might dig but is it any good?

I love pirate adventures and is a solid one that stars a delightful chum named Ocean who's on a quest to reclaim a special artifact. It's essentially a basic action platformer where you move along while fighting skeletons and other monsters and collect materials that you can craft into usable items and equipment. You can also captain a ship as you move to your next destination and blast enemy ships with cannons along the way. All of this comes together to form a variety-filled campaign that's rather fun, especially with platforming challenges, light puzzles, and unique combat skills that really pack a punch. On the downside, it's all just very clunky and feels like a budget PS3 game. I actually saw this as a fun throwback but not everyone will appreciate the janky elements; that's for sure. 🔱
is a clunky adventure that has plenty of charm and variety so I still recommend it to curious chums who enjoy similar games.
Trident's Tale gameplay video →You don't see many indie games that really lean into online co-op but is here and it's a ton of cooperative fun.

The story of is surprisingly post-apocalyptic despite its colourful visuals as robots have taken over. This premise ties in beautifully with the gameplay because it's all about working together to rebuild the world as you drive out the evil robots and this is accomplished in 3 ways. First, you cooperate with other players online and I played through a handful of missions with one folk which was highly entertaining. Next, you rescue helpful robots as you play through the levels and that ties into the final aspect which is that between missions, you build-up a cute town where you can access shops and more. Meanwhile, the core gameplay is similar to a 3D brawler where you slash and grapple robots as well as unleash special moves which can heal folks or cause some serious damage to your adversaries. There's an impressive amount of content here and if you have some online friends to play it with, the fun really cranks up. 🔗
is an excellent game for co-op hack and slash action that features so many elements, it'll make your head spin.
Lynked: Banner of the Spark gameplay video →I love retro-inspired RPGs and is certainly quite the throwback thanks to its pixel-perfect presentation and simple gameplay.

reminded me of SNES and early PS1 RPGs in the best way. When you begin, you'll go on a little somewhat straightforward adventure and the first thing that I loved is how seamless towns are with the rest of the game world. Anyway, you'll reach a point early on where you can choose where to go next which makes the campaign incredibly non-linear. As you explore these vast and unique regions, you'll unlock cool items like a magic carpet that you can fly around on and your party will grow with new gear, magic, and skills. Meanwhile, the combat is simple as you can unleash character-specific moves, attack, or cast magic. Figuring out elemental weaknesses is a treat, especially against bosses which get rather tough. Thankfully, you can always grind and with such a delightful world, doing so manages to be fun. 🌟
I love with its lovely game world and classic RPG gameplay that brought me back to a simpler time in the best way.
Starlight Legacy gameplay video →was obviously inspired by PowerWash Simulator but I may actually prefer it for a bunch of reasons so let's get painting!

If you've ever played PowerWash Simulator then you'll be immediately familiar with how to play as it also has you point a nozzle at things so you can spray them down. However, you actually colour them in here and right away, that's enough to make it better but there's more! Before you get spraying paint, you have to apply masking tape and paper to every surface that won't be painted and doing so is intuitive. After that, you pick up your sprayer, choose the correct paint, and get spraying. The nozzle has 3 settings with vertical, horizontal, and a condensed circle and you can do things like aim in-place as well as duck 3 levels in order to get into all the nooks and crannies. This adds up to a chill and entertaining game and once you take the paper away and reveal a completed job, it's oh so satisfying! 🎨
is the best game in its very specific genre that I've ever played so if you want to relax and paint things, play it, chum!
