24-Hour Economy must be rooted in enterprise growth - Presidential Advisor

Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy, Goosie Tanoh, has underscored the need for Ghana’s macroeconomic stability to be rooted in strong, enterprise-level growth.

He believes the private sector holds the key to unlocking the full potential of the 24-Hour Economy policy and must rise to the occasion by seizing emerging investment opportunities.

Speaking at a press briefing ahead of the official launch of Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy and the Accelerated Export Development Programme, on Monday, June 30, Gooshie Tanoh stressed that Ghanaians must grow tired of being described as poor.

“You must have capacity utilisation if you want to run a 24-hour economy; that allows you to implement the three-shift economy, and you must have qualitative products that are accepted and wanted by the market. And you must be price-competitive. The most important thing is that we achieve the levels of competitiveness, output growth that supports industry and traders to export.

“As Ghanaians, we must be tired of being poor and being described as poor when we have such vast resources and the potential for an extraordinary improved human capital that will drive this programme.  The programme is determined to build our private sector,” he stated.
