Bayelsa State has taken an early lead in the medals table at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged , currently holding in Ogun State.

According to the official tally as of Thursday morning, Bayelsa sits at the top of the table with , , and medals—placing it ahead of Delta State, its closest rival, which has , , and .

Rivers State follows with , , and , narrowly edging Osun State, which has also clinched medals but with only and no bronze.

Edo State has secured a significant number of total medals, leading in silver and bronze with , 17 silver, and 21 bronze—the highest combined non-gold tally so far.

Lagos, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, and host state Ogun also feature on the board, with Ogun recording 3 gold, 9 silver, and 9 bronze medals.
