: Security forces on Tuesday unearthed an old
Naxal camp
in the
Saranda forest
area of
West Singhbum
district and recovered several explosives.
The explosives included 12 live IEDs, each weighing 2kg besides nine IEDs each weighing 1kg. In addition, 55 pieces of gelatin sticks were also found.
West Singhbhum SP Ashutosh Shekhar said the Maoist camp was located in the hilly forest stretch of Kucha Tola in Serengda village under the Keraikela police station.
The explosives were defused in a controlled manner at the places where they were found.
The SP said that the security forces uncovered the hideout while carrying out a search operation on receiving reports about the movement of the extremists in the Saranda forest area.
