NEW DELHI: Maoists strangled a 45-year-old man to death in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district on Sunday, accusing him of being a police informer, officials said.
The incident occurred in Kiyer village under Bhamragad tehsil in the early hours of the day.
According to a senior police official, the victim, identified as Sukhram Madavi, was an "innocent civilian" and a resident of Kiyer village.
Maoists left a pamphlet near his body, falsely alleging that he had helped police set up new camps, including one in the Pengunda area.
