2025: Anambra AA Rejects God- Fatherism, Claims Guber Bid Will Truncate Soludo's Re-Election - Independent Newspaper Nigeria
The Action Alliance (AA) candidate in Anambra State’s governorship election on November 8th, 2025, has stated that he is not being sponsored by a godfather because he does not want to spend his tenure in office mortgaged and repaying campaign funds.
The AA candidate received support from 60 groups, including the Hausa Community in Awka, Yoruba Community in Awka, Ezinano Youth Forum, Anambra Rise Support Group, Hungry Nigerians (Anambra State Chapter), The Nigga Ambassadors Forum, Enugwu-Agidi Supporters for Jeff, Peace Youth Organisation, Women in Politics, Enugwu-Agidi Women Support Group for Jeff, Ihiala Support Group for Jeff, and De Nigga Family.
Addressing a large crowd of party supporters and support groups, AA Governorship candidate Chief Jeff Nweke, who made this known at the start of the party’s rally for the Ezinano sub-community in Awka, Anambra State capital, over the weekend, promised not to be intoxicated by power and would empower those who give power.
Nweke stated that his goal is to cause an upset in which the All Progressives Grand Alliance’s (APGA) re-election bid is truncated.
“We can win this election. I come to represent the people. I came here because I am aware that the people who are neglected and rejected are the majority. I advocate for women, youth, girls, boys, widows, indigents, physically challenged, and the elderly.
The AA Governorship candidate stated that his government will prioritise education to make it accessible to the poor in order to eradicate illiteracy and ignorance, rather than building infrastructure that has a short lifespan and has little positive impact on humans.
He stated that his government would put an end to the practice of leaders buying voters’ consciences and then using the money to intimidate them.
According to him, when things go wrong, there is a desire for positive change, and he promises to be the change.
“I want you to be hopeful because on November 8th, after you vote and elect me, all of us will march to Government House and all of you will be governor because you elected me and I represent you.”
According to Nweke, the slogan “You First” emphasises a leader’s responsibility to serve the electorate and promote positive change, rather than prioritising themselves.
Nweke, who stated that the election is about politics, not power, revealed that his campaign is based on “The Nigga” mantra, which represents “someone who broke through barriers, rose from the streets to the stage, and now wants to rise with you into Government House.”
