Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has announced the birth of a baby girl with fellow actress and partner Judy Austin, making her their third child together.

The 43-year-old shared the news in a video posted on Instagram on Friday, showing Judy in tears as the newborn was placed in her arms inside the hospital.

“We prayed, our fans prayed. And God answered. Rejoice with us as we welcome our beautiful daughter. Her name is UNIVERSE IFEYINWA STORM YUL-EDOCHIE. Thank You Lord,” he captioned the post.

The couple previously had two sons, and Yul had publicly expressed his desire for a daughter, promising to go to great lengths to make Judy happy if she gave him a baby girl.

Their relationship, however, has sparked public backlash since it became public in 2022, with many still reacting to the fact that Yul took Judy as a second wife while still legally married to his first wife, May Edochie.

Yul and May had been married since 2004 and have four children together. The marriage hit crisis after Yul introduced Judy as his second wife, prompting May to file for divorce.

The separation turned more tragic in 2023 following the sudden death of Yul and May’s first son, Kambilichukwu, a painful loss that occurred just months after the marriage announcement with Judy.

May’s legal team cited adultery as grounds for the divorce, stating that her union with Yul was contracted under the Marriage Act, which forbids polygamy. The divorce case is still ongoing, with custody and property issues yet to be resolved.

Despite the controversy, Yul and Judy have continued to celebrate their growing family, while May remains silent, focusing on healing and raising her children.
