The victim, a commercial motorcyclist, was reportedly shot dead on Monday night while riding home from work.

Hundreds of youths in Ngor Okpala, Imo State, have taken to the streets to protest the alleged killing of a young man by police operatives stationed at Evangelist Ebuka Obi's Zion Prayer Movement Outreach.

Zion Ministry's headquarters is now located in Ngor Okpala.

The victim, a commercial motorcyclist, was reportedly shot dead on Monday night while riding home from work.

The protesters, who conveyed the corpse of the deceased person to the ministry's premises, demanded justice for the victim and called for the police officers involved to be held accountable.

"The police who were stationed in the Zion Ministry came to my village yesterday night and shot one of our brothers innocently when the boy did nothing," said the leader of the protesting youths.

The community expressed outrage, noting that the young man was harmless and not involved in any criminal activity.

"The guy is not a criminal or involved in any criminality. We know everyone in the community, and that's why the entire youth of the community came out for this protest," the youth leader added.

The protesters are demanding that the police officers responsible for the killing be brought to justice.

"All the policemen involved should be fished out and held accountable," they said.

The incident has sparked tension in the area, with the community calling for an end to police brutality and extrajudicial killings.

A video shared on X by @ChuksEricE captures the moment the remains of the unidentified young man were being transported to the Zion Ministry premises.

"What we are doing is that we are taking the corpse of our brother back to the killers to eat. Whoever that shot and killed him should take the corpse. He was driving okada (commercial motorcycle) till that yesterday night they killed him. This is what Ebuka Obi and his security men gave to my community,” the leader of the protesters said.

"The boy was in his community and you came and killed for no reason at least known to anyone in the community. The guy is not a criminal or involved in any criminality.”

“We know everyone in the community and that's why the entire youth of the community came out for this protest. We demand justice for our brother. All the policemen involved should be fished and hold accountable," he added.

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters' efforts to reach the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, were unsuccessful, as he neither answered his calls nor responded to a text message seeking his comment.
