WKTU's Beatstock returning to Jones Beach this summer

After a hiatus of several years, the WKTU-sponsored dance-music extravaganza known as Beatstock will return to Northwell Health at Jones Beach this summer, the radio station announced Tuesday.

The lineup for the Aug. 16 show includes Boy George, Joey McIntyre, 3rd Bass, Right Said Fred, Reel 2 Real, No Mercy, Lucas Prata, Reina, Angelo Venuto, Kim Sozzi, C+C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams, Xaviera Gold, Janice Robinson of the original Livin’ Joy, Angelo Venuto, Rockell, George Lamond, Judy Torres, Corina, Coro, Cynthia, and Lisette Melendez. DJ sets from Jonathan Peters, DJ Skribble, Glenn Friscia and Blazer One are also part of the festivities. Current and former KTU personalities will host, along with "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Melissa Gorga.

Presale tickets will be available Wednesday and Thursday. General ticket sales begin Friday at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com. Beatstock will also be held on Aug. 17 at New Jersey's PNC Arts Center.

Over the years,  Beatstock has featured such big-name acts as  The Sugarhill Gang (2004), The Pussycat Dolls (2005), Kelly Rowland (2011) and Pitbull (2012).
