Wisconsin Basketball Staff Reaches Out to Talented 2027 Milwaukee Native

Published 9 hours ago3 minute read

The Wisconsin basketball staff has begun to scout and recruit the 2027 cycle more aggressively with many recruits hearing from the staff.

One such recruit who has heard from the Wisconsin basketball staff recently is Deuce McDuffie, a Milwaukee native who attends Rufus King High School. McDuffie is also a member of Team Herro and has been a stellar competitor on the AAU circuits. The talented recruit has been hearing from a number of programs recently and expects to see his recruitment take off astronomically in the coming months.

The small forward stands in at 6-feet-6-inches, and roughly 205-pounds with more space left to go as the recruit fills out his frame. McDuffie has risen on the Wisconsin boards as of late due to his performances thus far into the summer season.

The recruit has also become a somewhat viral player on social media after going off on the competition this past season.

McDuffie notably dropped 45-points in a league game last season for his high school which caught the attention of many coaches and fans alike. McDuffie also dropped 20 or more points multiple times as a freshman and showcased his raw scoring ability in a variety of ways.

While all of the offers might not be piling up for the recruit yet, the Wisconsin basketball staff and other programs alike see the true potential McDuffie has. The small forward has developed into a lethal scorer who is comfortable taking shots from all three levels. McDuffie is not the most accomplished outside shooter, but can still hurt a team when given enough time to shoot.

When a lane is open, McDuffie becomes the most dangerous as the recruit can seriously rock the rim. The small forward is not afraid to initiate contact and drive through the lane to the basket which makes for a dangerous player to defend. If someone is not attached to McDuffie at the hip, the forward will likely find a way to score.
