Why This Global Entrepreneur Chose the MSU MBA
Nthanda Manduwi, MBA ’26
When Nthanda Manduwi joined the MSU Broad MBA Class of 2026, she brought with her a decade of experience in international development and entrepreneurship. From working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in New York to founding organizations like the Ntha Foundation, Bien Corporation, and the Kwathu Kollective, Nthanda’s mission has always been clear: to drive innovation and impact across Africa and beyond.
So why did she choose the MSU Broad College of Business?
“Having engaged with and toured 40+ universities in the US and beyond, Broad was a clear choice. The program offered a perfect blend of analytical rigor and entrepreneurial support. MSU’s strong ties to Africa through research and development work also resonated deeply with my values and long-term goals.”
This summer, Nthanda is interning at Microsoft, supporting the ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program—a step toward her post-MBA goal of working in global strategy roles at the intersection of tech, digital transformation, and emerging markets. And just this year, Nthanda was recognized in her home country of Malawi as the Most Inspiring Female Corporate Leader of 2025, a powerful testament to her vision, leadership, and global impact.
Her favorite part of the Michigan State MBA program?
“The people. From my brilliant cohort and diverse faculty to the support systems across campus—I’ve found a genuine community that has both challenged and empowered me.”
She’s also grown as a leader:
“Beyond technical finance and strategy tools, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of systems thinking, stakeholder communication, and data-driven decision-making.”
Her advice to future MSU Spartans?
“Come in curious—and stay open. Don’t be afraid to unlearn what no longer serves you. Build your network with intention. And most importantly, create space to redefine success on your own terms.”
