Jonathan Bailey was missing at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards despite his multiple nominations.

The actor, who was up for three awards at the Feb. 23 show, was not in attendance with his Wicked or Bridgerton costars as he was busy taking another stage across the pond.

Bailey, 36, is currently starring in Richard II at the Bridge Theater in London and, therefore, was not able to attend the ceremony.

He was still honored, though, for his various nominations, which included outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role for Wicked, outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture for Wicked and outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series for Bridgerton.

Many of his costars were in attendance at the show, including Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, both of whom were also nominated for their roles in the Wizard of Oz prequel film, along with Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton and several other Bridgerton stars.

There's still some crossover between what Bailey is busy doing right now and his nominations, though. He told BBC he was inspired by Succession's Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his children when preparing for the role in Richard II, which he'll play through May 10.

"I channeled many Roys," he said. "[Richard II] explores inherited power in a very similar way to Succession but also expands on it and takes it to a new level."

Bailey also said that after beginning his career in the West End, being back onstage is making him "so happy" as he's able to "inspire a new generation of young people coming to the theater."

"If 10 people per show come and see Shakespeare for the first time, then I'm doing something right," he told the outlet.

His theater roots also came into play while working on Wicked, as he and his costar Grande, 31, reflected on during a joint interview with PEOPLE. "I feel like we were both very theater children in the room," Grande said. "And we were very giggly together. That was the tough thing with us. We were the giggliest pair."

Bailey agreed as he said he and Grande were "incessant" on set — but, she felt like their shared energy "carbonated our chemistry." He added: "It gave us fizz."
