The brand has remained one of the most venerable and exciting properties among various forms of media. Whether it's through the regular film releases – notably in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – or the comics from which they are adapted, Marvel has consistently found new and exciting ways to entertain its longtime fans. The video game world has also seen plenty of success with Marvel properties in the past few years, notably with titles such as Insomniac’s Spider-Man titles and Eidos-Montreal’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
So far, though, 2025 looks to be a fairly light year for Marvel video games. It seems the brand will continue to ride the wave height created by the ever-popular multiplayer title Marvel Rivals, with the only other new release this year coming in the form of Tribute Games’ upcoming title, Marvel Cosmic Invasion. While this year could prove very quiet for the comic giant in the video game world, 2026 could end up having a loaded library of fantastic Marvel titles, especially with what the brand has on the horizon next year.

It's not clear where Insomniac's Spider-Man trilogy will go next, but a scrapped idea from many years ago would be an especially good fit.
A loaded 2026 lineup of Marvel video games doesn't seem out of the question, especially in the wake of the impending release of the film Avengers: Doomsday. Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen its share of ups and downs during what has been dubbed “The Multiverse Saga,” this new entry rides in on a wave of massive anticipation. After all, it is the follow-up to 2019's Avengers: Endgame, the culmination of an era of Marvel films known as “The Infinity Saga,” and perhaps one of the biggest cinematic events in history.
Avengers: Doomsday looks to be an event on a similar scale, combining several Marvel teams, including the Avengers, the Wakandans, the New Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the original X-Men team. It will also feature the surprising return of Robert Downey Jr., who originally portrayed Iron Man throughout previous Marvel films, now playing the role of Dr. Doom. With the massive hype surrounding the film, it would make a lot of sense for Marvel to capitalize on the excitement with a loaded lineup of upcoming video games.
Thus far, the only Marvel game confirmed to be releasing in 2026 is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. A new project from Skydance New Media written by Amy Hennig and Julian Beak, this new game was expected to launch in 2025 but has since been delayed to next year. Set during World War 2, this new title will see Captain America and the Black Panther team up with Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos and Nanali of the Wakandan Spy Network to stop the Marvel universe’s notorious terrorist organization, Hydra.
While no other proper Marvel games are officially confirmed to be releasing in 2026, that doesn't mean there aren't some potential titles that could finally arrive next year. One of the most noteworthy Marvel games that could finally see a release in 2026 comes in the form of Marvel’s Wolverine. This new project from Spider-Man developer Insomniac Games has not been shown in any official capacity since its initial reveal in 2021 alongside Spider-Man 2, but Insomniac could finally deliver it to gamers sometime next year.

Beyond those titles, there is a bevy of other Marvel games that have been announced over the past few years that may finally resurface in 2026. Bethesda has tasked Arkane Lyon with developing a project based on the Blade character, while EA has a pair of Marvel games in the works in the form of Motive Studio’s Iron Man game and new developer Cliffhanger Games’ Black Panther project. The status of these games has been ambiguous since their respective announcements, but one or more of them could finally pop up in 2026 to cash in on the hype surrounding the Marvel brand.
The arrival of Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 looks to bring a brand-new level of hype to the Marvel brand and serve as another event in a long library of noteworthy titles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the massive anticipation and intrigue for this new film, Marvel would be best served by carrying that excitement into the other facets of its brand, specifically its video games. Here's hoping 2026 brings gamers some of these long-awaited Marvel titles and proves to be a massive year for comic-based action in gaming.
