Water Authority, Investment Bank Sign Agreement To Boost Sector Partnerships

Amman, June 19 (Petra) – The Secretary General of the Water Authority of Jordan, Sufyan Batayneh, and the Director of Corporate Facilities at the Investment Bank, Munther Asrawi, signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing partnerships between the water sector and the local private sector, particularly financial institutions.
The agreement, signed in the presence of senior officials from both the Water Authority of Jordan and the Investment Bank, is part of broader efforts to develop sustainable solutions for the challenges facing the water sector and to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Thursday, Batayneh emphasized that fostering cooperation with local financial institutions is a key component of the government's strategy to respond to exceptional pressures in the water sector and to strengthen economic and social development.
He expressed appreciation for the Investment Bank's initiative, noting its readiness to provide the necessary support to ensure the success of this partnership.
Asrawi reaffirmed the bank's commitment to supporting national institutions, particularly those providing essential public services. He highlighted the bank's efforts to empower small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, and women-led businesses by improving access to financing and promoting financial inclusion through a network of branches, business centers, and digital banking services.
He noted that the bank aims to streamline financial transactions and broaden service accessibility to all segments of society, contributing to sustainable economic development.
