Washington wines now on Aldi shelves

Wines from Washington State in the US are becoming increasingly accessible to UK consumers, with new listings in major supermarket chains and online retailers reflecting a growing appetite for emerging wine regions.

Aldi has added two Washington wines to its Spring/Summer 2025 range: a Merlot and a Syrah. They join existing listings at Tesco and are now available alongside a range of bottles from online retailers including Majestic, Virgin Wines, Laithwaites and VINVM.

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “At Aldi, we’re passionate about uncovering exceptional wines from emerging regions, and Washington State is a real hidden gem.

“Our new Merlot and Syrah showcase the quality and innovation coming out of Washington’s vineyards. We’re proud to bring them to our shelves, giving customers the chance to discover bold new flavours and support up-and-coming winemakers, all at the great value they know us for.”
