The Washington Capitals have released their new cherry blossom jerseys, featuring the team's 50th anniversary "Screaming Eagle" logo and a cherry blossom branch-themed patch on the shoulders, in honor of Washington, D.C.'s annual festival.

The Washington Capitals have partnered with artist Taylor Kampa Olson of TKO Paintings once again to design their newest cherry blossom-inspired jerseys. The limited-edition jerseys will be worn by players as they come in for their game against the Detroit Red Wings on March 18.
Fans will also be able to own a piece of this distinctive design, with signed jerseys and pucks available through an online auction. Funds raised through the auction will support the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, which provides funding to numerous community organizations. Merchandise bearing the cherry blossom design will also be on sale through the Capitals' web store, in addition to being sold in-person at Capital One Arena and the team's practice facility.
