Deputy captain of the Black Queens, Jennifer Cudjoe, believes the delayed 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will be a great opportunity to show Ghana's quality once again after making a return to the continental stage.

The Black Queens booked a ticket to the continental showpiece after not being present since hosting the tournament in 2018.

Cudjoe was key in the team's qualification as she featured in all games under Nora Hauptle. With just days to the tournament, the American-based midfielder believes the team is up for a 'different challenge'.

"Missing out on WAFCON for a couple of years was tough, but returning now brings us great joy. This edition will be a different kind of challenge," she told CAF in a Webinar.

"As tough as it may be, we plan to enjoy every moment of it," she added as she talked about Ghana's group.

"South Africa is one of the strongest teams in Africa. They've been consistent, just like other top teams, so it will be a great game to face them."

The 31-year-old feels this will be the perfect opportunity to take the national team to the glory days.

"It's great to see the Black Queens return," she continued.

"It's on us now to give our best and remind everyone that Ghana is back - and here to stay!"

Ghana has finished as runners-up of the WAFCON on three occasions, but are yet to get their hands on the ultimate. Kim Lars Bjorkegren will be hoping to lead the team to its first title.
