Visa Spotlights Financial Inclusion as Key Driver of Fintech Growth at GITEX Africa 2025

GITEX Africa 2024, held in Marrakech, Morocco, from April 14-16, shines a spotlight on technology's transformative potential and investment opportunities across the African continent. With a strong focus on fostering financial inclusion through advancements in the payments ecosystem, Visa has announced its participation as the financial innovation partner at the event.
Visa's presence at GITEX Africa underscores its commitment to driving digital innovation and enabling a cashless economy in Africa. The company is building upon previous investments in the region and established partnerships with governments, startups, and businesses. Attendees are invited to visit Visa’s booth at Stand No. 16B-20 in Hall 16 to explore payment innovations and engage in discussions about how digital payments are shaping the future of Africa’s economy. Senior Visa executives, including Andrew Torre, Leila Serhan, Sami Romdhane, and Godfrey Sullivan, will share insights on various panels throughout the event.
As the exclusive digital payment provider for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournament, Morocco 2025 (AFCON), Visa is presenting the ‘Visa Connected Stadium’ experience at GITEX Africa. This immersive journey showcases how digital payments will enhance the experience for travelers and football fans. Seamless and secure transactions at every touchpoint, from ticket booking to stadium entry, will allow fans and visitors to experience frictionless and secure payment ecosystems. Visa will also offer fans the opportunity to view the official AFCON and WAFCON trophies on the first day of GITEX Africa, highlighting Visa’s commitment to connecting with African football's passionate audiences.
The event will also feature the culmination of the third cohort of the Visa Accelerator Programme. Eighteen pan-African fintechs will pitch their businesses and innovative solutions at the GITEX 10X Stage on April 15 to an audience of venture capitalists, Visa senior leadership, and key ecosystem enablers. These early-stage startups have completed a 12-week program, providing them access to mentorship, training, and opportunities for funding and growth resources. GITEX Africa participants can attend the Demo Day at 14:15pm on the 10X Stage in Hall 23.
