The Vampire Diaries ended in 2017, but the cast was back together recently, as Michael Trevino, who played Tyler Lockwood on the CW show, married model and actress Bregje Heinen in Spain.
The happy occasion was quite the reunion for Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert), Candice King (Caroline Forbes), Zach Roerig (Matt Donovan), Kayla Ewell (Vicki Donovan), as well as Charles Michael Davis (Marcel Gerard) and King's fiancée Steven Krueger, who played Josh Rosza, in spinoff The Originals, and Julie Plec, who created both shows.
The Vampire Diaries, which premiered in 2009 and aired for eight seasons, was a supernatural horror series about vampire brothers Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley), who were both obsessed with Dobrev's Elena.
The wedding had a decidedly lighter vibe.
Photos and video shared showed lots of toasts and group photos in gorgeous scenery. There appeared to be much laughter and living it up for the reunited friends.
Dobrev, who attended with fiancé Shaun White, described the event as "the most beautiful weekend celebrating these two."
Ewell captioned her video, "Dear Diary, Tonight we were feeling epic." She wrote to the couple, "congratulations on finding true love. Marriage is the best. We love you!"
Earlier this month, another The Vampire Diaries reunion took place but was on-screen: The Waterfront debuted June 19 on Netflix, and actors Roerig and and Matthew Davis, who played the character of Alaric Saltzman on eight seasons of TVD, appeared together briefly.
Their characters here were killed before long, but Kevin Williamson, who co-created the original series with Plec, told EW recently that their scene was meant to last longer.
"We had to trim it back, that was one of our budget concerns," Williamson said. "But it was a much more elaborate opening murder scene. It was a big I Know What You Did Last Summer thing, but they were like, 'Kevin, this isn't a horror movie.' So you got the slimmed down version.
