Utah Jazz listening to trade calls for star guard, Collin Sexton

Published 10 hours ago2 minute read

A former Alabama men’s basketball star could be on the move to his third NBA team.

Collin Sexton, a native Georgian, finished his third season with the Utah Jazz.

He recorded career-highs for free throw percentage () and three-point shooting (), while averaging 18.4 points per game. His best season came in his third year in the league with the Cleveland Cavaliers (2020-21) as he totaled 24.3 points per contest, but he was traded to the Jazz for the 2022-23 season. A knee injury (torn meniscus) and failure between him and Cleveland to agree on a new contract led to the trade. Sexton, 26, is a former McDonald’s All-American and five-star prospect that led the Crimson Tide to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament as a freshman in the 2017 season.

According to Evan Sidery of Forbes, Utah is ‘listening to trade calls’ for Sexton.

The Jazz are expected to listen to trade calls on Collin Sexton.

On a $19.1 million expiring contract, Sexton’s scoring and energy would be a welcome fit on a contending team.

He has $19.1 million remaining on an expiring contract; however, Sexton would benefit a team that’s a contender.

It will be interesting to see which team makes the call with the right number for him.
