Uasin Gishu county prioritizes construction of roads in its budget

Uasin Gishu county has prioritized construction of roads in its 2025/26 budget so as to ease access to the the grassroots by allocating Ksh.2.5 billion.
While presenting the budget appropriations for the 2025-2026 financial year to the county assembly CEC in charge of Finance Micah Rokony noted that for the last two years the county government has been concentrating much on health and water sectors.
Rogony said for the last 13 years the county government of Uasin Gishu has been missing its target on own source revenue which greatly affected the budget.
The county also also allocated 2.4 billion to the health sector to enable upgrade of health centres across the county. Ksh.60 million for the construction of Moiben sub county hospital and Ksh.280 million for medical supplies.
