JAMB Announces June 28 Mop-Up UTME for Over 96,000 Candidates, Delists 113 CBT Centres

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced Saturday, June 28, 2025, as the date for the conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise. This rescheduled examination is specifically designed to accommodate a total of 96,838 candidates. These candidates are slated to sit the examination across 183 designated centres nationwide. The cohort includes 5,096 individuals who encountered issues with biometric verification during the main UTME exercise, as well as 91,742 candidates who were absent from either the main examination, the previously rescheduled UTME, or both.

This rescheduling was necessitated after JAMB identified a technical glitch that adversely affected the results of candidates in 65 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in Lagos State, along with 92 CBT centres across Anambra, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, and Enugu States. The Registrar, Mr. Oloyede, had previously admitted to these errors and issued an apology to the affected candidates, leading to the decision for a rescheduled examination.

In a resolute effort to uphold the integrity of its examination processes and combat malpractice, JAMB has also disclosed the suspension and delisting of 113 CBT centres across the country. These centres are facing scrutiny for their alleged involvement in
