Tyrese Haliburton Sends Six-Word Message to Knicks Celebrity Superfan - NewsBreak
The New York Knicks might have a historical arena, a massive media market, and a celebrity fanbase, but that doesn't matter when their opponent, the Indiana Pacers, simply had a better basketball team. Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam had their fair share of signature moments in their six-game series against New York, and Haliburton was not above talking trash.
In Game 1, he mimicked Reggie Miller's signature "choke" celebration after the Knicks blew a 17-point lead, and in Game 4 at home, he mocked Jalen Brunson's 3-point celebration.
Between Timothee Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Larry David, Bad Bunny, and Spike Lee, the Knicks enjoy a star-studded fanbase, and even the most famous of fans were not safe from Haliburton mocking them.
Before Game 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Pacers walked to the locker room wearing all black, signalling that they were about to attend the Knicks' funeral. Haliburton had a matching black duffel bag to match, and Knicks superfan Ben Stiller couldn't help but take a jab.
"Good thing he brought his duffel for the flight to NY," Stiller posted on social media.
After the Pacers beat the Knicks in a 125-108 blowout, Haliburton gave a simple, six-word response.
The Knicks, who added Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges this offseason, had very real title hopes, although they fell short to their historical rival, who kept them from making the Finals for the 26th season in a row.
After an early exit, the Knicks have been urged to trade Towns and retool the roster, so maybe the Pacers attending a "funeral" was apt.
