The incident happened at the filling station in Lockheed Close in Banbury, Oxfordshire at around 2pm today (14 May).

Emergency services from Thames Valley Police, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue and South Central Ambulance were sent to the scene of the crash.

Fire crews sent engines from Banbury and Deddington fire stations, plus their rescue tender vehicle from Kidlington fire station.

An eyewitness said: "There were four people outside catching their breath outside, sitting on objects and on the floor."

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "This was a damage-only road traffic collision, so no injuries, and no arrests either. But an investigation is ongoing.

"There were no structural issues with the building either."

A Tesco spokesperson said: “The petrol station at our Banbury Extra is currently closed.

"We are working hard with our maintenance team to reopen this as soon as possible. We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused."

A spokesperson for the Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews attended a two vehicle road traffic collision, with one vehicle going into the front of the petrol station.

"Electricity supply and petrol pumps were isolated, and the vehicles made safe and removed from the building onto the forecourt.

"Fire and rescue crews departed at 15:13."

A South Central Ambulance spokesperson said it sent one ambulance to the incident. However, no-one was conveyed to hospital via ambulance and the scene was left with police.
