Doha is set to host U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday as part of a diplomatic visit that will see him hold crucial talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The visit, part of President Trump’s broader Middle East tour, is expected to focus on strengthening U.S.-Qatar relations, with economic cooperation and regional security at the top of the agenda.
Trump arrived in Doha at Sheikh Tamim Hamad International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
As anticipation builds, the Qatari capital has taken on a celebratory look.
The streets of Doha are adorned with Qatari and American flags, signaling a warm welcome for the U.S. leader.
Major roads have seen a visible increase in security, with police and other security forces deployed as early as 3 a.m. to ensure a smooth visit.
Trump’s tour of the region began in Saudi Arabia and will continue to the United Arab Emirates following his stop in Doha.
This marks his first visit to the Middle East since the start of his second term in office.
His meeting with the Emir is expected to underscore mutual interests in regional stability and economic development, reinforcing Qatar’s strategic importance as a U.S. ally in the Gulf.
